DRIVEN charger rebate for dealerships and workshops
The federal DRIVEN program pays up to $3,000 per EV charging plug for licensed motor dealers, their service centres and automotive repair workshops. Fixed chargers must be installed by a licensed electrician. We already install charging across a major national dealership group, so we know how these sites run.

What DRIVEN pays for
The rebate is paid to the business after the work is done, so the claim needs the right invoices and install records. We provide both.
DRIVEN also rebates EV workshop equipment, tools and PPE at up to 80% of cost. We don't supply that equipment, so talk to your workshop supplier about that part.
Checked 28 September 2026. Rules and amounts change, so confirm on the official pages before you rely on them: DRIVEN Charger Rebate Stream, business.gov.au; DRIVEN program, DCCEEW.
Charging for every part of the dealership
Customer and forecourt charging
Chargers for customers, delivery bays and demonstrators, placed where they suit the showroom and the car park.
Workshop and service bays
Charging for diagnostics and servicing, installed and staged around trading hours so the site keeps selling and servicing.
Portable DC charger assessments
If you're buying a portable DC charger, the rebate needs a licensed electrician to confirm your outlets can take it. We do the assessment and any circuit work it turns up.
One contractor, whole job
Most EV installers stop at the charger and call an electrician for everything else. Supply upgrades, switchboards and network coordination are our core trade.

Who can claim the DRIVEN charger rebate?
Licensed motor dealers or traders, service centres associated with a licensed dealer, and automotive repair businesses at non-residential commercial premises that meet AS 5732:2022. You need an ABN and an Australian bank account.
How much is the DRIVEN rebate per charger?
Up to $3,000 per eligible fixed smart charging plug or portable DC charger, and up to $21,000 for chargers per site. The minimum eligible spend is $5,000 per claim, and each site is capped at $50,000 across all rounds.
Are AC chargers eligible for the DRIVEN rebate?
Fixed smart chargers are eligible whether they are AC or DC, at any power level. Portable chargers must be DC. Portable AC units are not eligible.
Does the charger have to be installed by a licensed electrician?
Yes. Fixed chargers must be installed by a licensed electrician. We are a licensed NSW electrical contractor (licence 397282C) and provide the invoices and install records your claim needs.
When does the DRIVEN charger rebate close?
