Electric truck & bus depot charging infrastructure

High-capacity depot charging for electric trucks and buses, the scale of work where the switchgear, protection and incoming supply matter more than the charger. This is infrastructure delivery, and it is where our rail and motorway background is directly relevant.

01 · The commercial case

Why this pays for itself

01

Supply works in-house

Depot-scale charging needs a major supply upgrade and often a substation. We coordinate that with the network and deliver the site works ourselves.

02

Charging built around the timetable

Sequenced overnight charging sized to route energy, not nameplate, so the depot leaves on time.

03

Staged so operations continue

Delivered in phases alongside a running diesel fleet, with no depot shutdown.

02 · Recommended setup

What we would specify for your site

We are charger agnostic. Hardware is specified from all major AC and DC brands to suit the site, not a supply agreement.

SpecificationWhereWhy
DC 150–350 kW Bus and truck charging bays Overnight and opportunity charging at fleet scale.
Supply upgrade & switchroom Whole depot The capacity the depot needs at full conversion.
Load & timetable management Whole depot Charges the fleet within the site’s supply limit.

03 · Scope of works

One contractor, whole job

Most EV installers stop at the charger and call an electrician for everything else. Supply upgrades, switchboards and network coordination are our core trade.

Answers before you enquire

Anything else, send us an enquiry or call Tim on 0409 986 882.

What supply does an electric bus depot need?

Far more than a standard commercial site: usually a dedicated supply, transformers and a switchroom. Capacity is set by the number of vehicles, charger power and the timetable, and we model it against the conversion plan.

Can a depot be electrified in stages?

Yes, and it usually should be. We build the supply and distribution for the eventual full fleet, then add chargers per tranche while the depot keeps running.

Do you have experience at this scale of work?

Yes. eProjects delivers large-scale commercial electrical works on major NSW infrastructure, including rail and motorway programmes, the same class of work depot electrification requires.

How is charging scheduled around timetables?

Charge management is configured to the run schedule so vehicles are ready when needed and the depot stays within its supply limit and demand tariff.
