01 · The commercial case

The Business Case for Workplace EV Charging

01

A workplace benefit employees can use

Workplace EV charging provides a practical employee benefit while supporting staff who drive EVs or transition to electric vehicles through novated leasing.

02

Control charging costs

Access control and user-based billing allow businesses to provide free or subsidised charging, recover electricity costs, or allocate charging costs between users and cost centres.

03

Expand as EV demand grows

Smart load management allows additional charging bays to be added while managing the site’s available electrical capacity, helping reduce or defer switchboard and supply upgrades.

02 · Recommended setup

How we specify EV infrastructure for your site

We specify EV chargers from leading AC and DC charging brands based on your dealership’s vehicles, charging requirements, electrical capacity and operating needs, rather than being tied to a single charger manufacturer.

SpecificationWhereWhy
AC EV Charging: 7 kW Individual staff bays Cost-effective charging for vehicles parked throughout the working day.
AC EV Charging: up to 22 kW Shared and visitor bays Faster charging for vehicles with shorter dwell times.
Access control & billing Whole site Control charger access and allocate or recover charging costs.

03 · Scope of works

One contractor, whole job

Most EV installers stop at the charger and call an electrician for everything else. Supply upgrades, switchboards and network coordination are our core trade.

Answers before you enquire

Anything else, send us an enquiry or call Tim on 0409 986 882.

How many EV chargers should a workplace install?

Start with a small number of bays, and size the conduit, cabling and switchboard capacity for more. Adding chargers to prepared infrastructure later is far cheaper than a second full installation.

Can we charge staff for using the chargers?

Yes. Chargers can be configured with RFID or app authentication and per-user billing, or run free with usage reporting for internal cost allocation.

Do we need landlord approval?

For a leased tenancy, generally yes. We can prepare the technical scope and documentation for the building owner or strata, including supply impact, so approval is straightforward.

Will workplace charging affect our demand charges?

It can if left unmanaged. We set charging profiles and load management so vehicles charge outside your peak demand window.
