Solar & battery for manufacturing and industrial sites

Manufacturers have the two things that make solar work: a heavy, continuous daytime load and acres of roof above it. Add demand charges from motor starts and compressors, and storage starts paying for itself alongside the array.

01 · What is in it for you

Energy is a production input. Own it.

01

Cut the unit cost of everything you make

Electricity is a direct input cost. Fixing a large share of it for twenty-five years does more for gross margin than most efficiency programs, and it is immune to the next retail price reset.

02

Cut the demand charge as well as the usage

Capacity and demand charges driven by motor starts and compressor cycling can be a third of the invoice. A battery clips those peaks in milliseconds, often the largest single saving on the bill.

03

Keep the line running through disturbances

Storage plus proper protection rides through sags and brownouts that would otherwise drop a production line and cost you a shift of output and scrap.

What we would specify for your site

Brand agnostic. Panels, inverters and batteries chosen on warranty and serviceability, sized from your interval data.

ComponentTypical scaleWhat it delivers
Rooftop or ground array250 kW – 5 MWOffsets the process load through every production shift.
Battery storage500 kWh – 2 MWhPeak shaving, demand response revenue, ride-through for critical plant.
Supply upgrade & protectionSite-wideLarger systems need supply works and protection studies, our core trade.

03 · Scope of works

One contractor, whole job

At this scale the project is an electrical infrastructure job, not a panel job: protection coordination, network connection and negotiation. That is what we have done since 1999.

05 · Common questions

Answers before you enquire

Anything else, send us an enquiry or call Tim on 0409 986 882.

Our roof is old or asbestos-clad. What then?

We assess it before quoting. Options include re-sheeting the section under the array, mounting on a different building, or a ground-mount or car-park structure. We will tell you if the roof cannot carry it.

Can solar run three-shift operations?

It covers the daylight shift directly and a battery extends that into the evening. Overnight load still comes from the grid. The model shows you exactly what proportion each way.

Will the network let us export?

Export limits vary by feeder. We handle the DNSP application and, where export is capped, size the system for self-consumption so the constraint costs you nothing.

How disruptive is installation?

Roof works are isolated from the floor below. Only the connection and switchboard tie-in require an outage, and we schedule that for a planned shutdown or weekend.

Rebates & incentives

Federal and State Incentives - Cut the cost of your installation, we handle the rebates.

We assess eligibility and handle the paperwork as part of every quote, commercial and residential.
